In a working-class city in Northern Italy, a father obsessed with social redemption kills his twenty-year-old daughter who has chosen the love of a Tunisian boy and a simple life over his dreams of social advancement, descending into a delirium where the silver makeup on his face marks the progression of madness as he confronts the ghosts of a life lived on the margins.
