Bacchae

In this surreal adaptation of a Greek tragedy, Pentheus, the king of Thebes, must defend his kingdom from the foreign cult of Dionysus. When Dionysus offers to show him the cult's mysterious rites, Pentheus gives into temptation and takes up the offer. Red curtains, golden masks, crossdressing, and cannibalism are in store.
